Academic Rigor and Achievement
Our Academic Program challenges the intellect and maximizes the potential of each student to acquire knowledge, concepts, and skills necessary to become thinking, productive and responsible citizens. Excellence in Academics results in a love of life-long learning.
Mutual Respect
We foster mutual respect by creating a culture of trust that engages students in learning.
Outstanding Faculty and Paraprofessionals
All of our teachers and paraprofessional meet the standards of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) by meeting all applicable California State Certification and Licensure requirements.
Parental Investment and Community Involvement
At Nascent, parents want the best for their children and share in the responsibility and the process of educating them. Parents actively participate at all levels at Nascent, and they are catalysts to the success of all of our children.
We Value Diversity as a Strength
Nascent is an inclusive community in which people from different cultural, ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds learn, live and work harmoniously without compromising their beliefs and their identities. We champion excellence and equity.
Our Academic Goals
Our Instructional Program is built around Research-based Practices that have successfully been implemented around the country. The Articulated Curriculum progressively deepens the students’ understanding of Core Concepts while avoiding needless repetition. The Small Class Sizes allow for discussion, small group work, peer and teacher conferences and interviews on a daily basis. ISANA Nascent teachers communicate clear expectations as to what students learn, how they learn it, and what qualifies as good work. They do so by setting explicit content and performance standards that all student work to achieve; and by making those standards clear to the students, their parents and the community.
